Neurosurgery Opportunity – AZ
Start Date: February 21, 2026

Coverage Dates & Schedule:
· 7:00 AM 2/21 – 7:00 AM 2/26
· 7:00 AM 4/29 – 7:00 AM 5/4
· 24-hour beeper call

Practice Setting:
· Hospital-based
· Level I Trauma Center (very busy service)
· Number of beds: 317
· EMR: Cerner

Work Details:
· Patient population: 100% adult trauma
· Average patients per day: 6
· Average surgeries per day: 6 (trauma only, no elective cases)

Technology & Resources:
· Two O-arm platforms
· Stealth navigation for cranial cases
· Cranial and spinal navigation available
· Four modern operative microscopes (Zeiss and Leica)

Vendors:
Globus and Medtronic are the primary vendors. Other vendors may be used but may need to travel from Phoenix, which could impact case timing. New implant types (such as expandable cages) require pre-approval.

Post-Op Care:
All neurosurgery patients are admitted to either the trauma service or hospitalist service. There is 24/7 neurosurgery PA support to manage post-op care and ensure follow-up in the Neurosurgery clinic.

Requirements:
· Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
· Active Arizona license required (IMLC candidates considered)
· DEA required and registered in AZ
· BLS required

Credentialing:
· Estimated timeframe: 30 days

Compensation:
· Flat daily rate
