24-Hour General Surgery Call Coverage – West Virginia (Licensing Available)

Job description

A community hospital in West Virginia is seeking a General Surgeon for locum tenens call coverage starting in July. This is a great opportunity for a surgeon looking for low-volume call work with flexibility in scheduling. Providers can choose to work 7 consecutive days or spread shifts throughout the month.
This role is primarily call-based, with manageable volume and strong support in a smaller hospital setting.

• Location: Weston, WV – 26.6 miles from North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB)
• Start Date: July 1st – Dec 31st
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Shift Details: Call Coverage – 7 days per month (7 days in a row or 7 sporadic days)
• Schedule: 7 days per month 24-hour call coverage
• Hospital Size: 70 beds
• EMR: Cerner
• Patient Volume: 0–10 calls per day (typically on the lower end)
• Procedures: EGD and colonoscopy preferred but not required

Requirements:
• Board Certified General Surgeon
• Active state license required (willing to license; IMLC or temp license preferred)
• DEA required
• BLS and ACLS required

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

We pay weekly, cover malpractice insurance, and handle credentialing in-house!

• Only 7 days per month – flexible scheduling (block or scattered)
• 0–10 calls per day (typically on the lower end)
• 6-month assignment with licensing support available
