Job description

A community hospital in Elkins, WV is seeking a General Surgeon for short-term locum call coverage with additional opportunities expected later in the year. This is a great fit for a provider looking to pick up focused blocks of coverage with manageable volume in a supportive hospital setting.

• Location: Elkins, WV – 135 miles from West Virginia International Yeager Airport
• Start Date: June 29, 2026
• Contract Length: ~2 months (specific dates below; more likely in October)
• Schedule: 24-hour call coverage (7a–7a)
• Coverage Dates: June 29 – July 5, July 31 – August 24
• Setting: Hospital
• Hospital Size: 80 beds
• EMR: Cerner
• Patient Volume: 0–10 calls per day (typically on the lower end)
• Procedures: EGD and colonoscopy required

Requirements:
• Board Certified General Surgeon
• Active state license required (willing to license; IMLC or temp license preferred)
• DEA required
• BLS and ACLS required

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

We pay weekly, cover malpractice insurance, and handle credentialing in-house!

• 0–10 calls per day (typically on the lower end)
