Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Neonatologist to provide PRN coverage in a Level II NICU and nursery in Washington, DC. Flexible scheduling options and a streamlined interview process make this an excellent short-term locums opportunity.
Position Highlights
Flexible Scheduling: 12- or 24-hour shifts, days or nights, PRN with a focus on the last 2 weeks of December.
Clinical Scope: Level II NICU (6-bed, census 10–15) + nursery (5–10 patients); delivery attendance, resuscitation required; no call.
Fast Interview & Offer: Chief of Regional Based Specialties schedules interviews within 24 hours, references checked within 48 hours, and offers typically made within 72 hours.
Position Details
Shift Details: 12- or 24-hour shifts | Days or Nights | PRN coverage.
Setting: Hospital-based, Level II NICU + nursery.
Patient Load: 5–10 in nursery; 10–15 max in NICU.
EMR: Cerner.
Responsibilities: NICU and nursery coverage, delivery attendance, neonatal resuscitation; no call.
Requirements
Board Certification: Neonatology (required).
Licensure: Active DC license (IMLC not accepted; not willing to license).
Certifications: NRP, DEA, CDS (NIB not required).
Experience: Minimum Level II NICU experience required.
Credentialing: 45–60 days.
