How does this year's salary for Anesthesiologists compare to other years?
During the pandemic, the average anesthesiologist salary experienced a dip as many anesthesiologists lost work or had their roles shift to assisting intubating COVID patients, resulting in a visible dip in 2020. Since then, however, it has risen to a new peak, beating the high water mark of recent years.
Anesthesiologists are well aware of demand for their role at this time, and are not incentivized to settle for lower pay. This point of tension between anesthesiologists seeking work opportunities and medical facilities looking to fill open positions has resulted in an ongoing – and largely unresolved – gaps in care nationwide.
