Job description

We are seeking an experienced CRNA for a 6-month full-time locum tenens assignment at a large academic Level I Trauma Center. This is a high-acuity clinical environment ideal for CRNAs who are confident across complex cases and thrive in a teaching hospital setting.

This role requires full-time commitment and schedule flexibility across multiple shift types.

Schedule & Commitment

Contract Length: 6 months (required)

Full-Time Only

Available Shifts:

5x8s

4x10s

3x12s

Shift Times:

7a–3p

7a–5p

9a–9p (New Haven location)

Providers must be willing to work any 3 days per week (including Fridays)

Weekend shifts may be available

Flexibility across all shift types is required (12s only cannot be guaranteed)

Clinical Practice

Practice Setting: Academic / Teaching Hospital

Trauma Level: Level I

Hospital Size: 1,500+ beds

Patients Per Day: 10–12

Care Team Model: CRNAs working alongside anesthesiologists

EMR: Epic

Case Mix (High Acuity)

CRNAs must be comfortable with all major surgery types, including:

General Surgery

Orthopedics

Cardiovascular

Neurosurgery

Gastrointestinal

Urologic

Gynecologic

Ophthalmologic

ENT

Healthy Pediatrics

Requirements

Board-Certified CRNA (required)

Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience (required)

DEA required

Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Licensure: Will consider candidates needing state licensure

Background: Clean malpractice and licensure history required

Credentialing

Timeline: Approximately 120 days

Physician references required from all prior CRNA practice locations

Due to the academic setting, a thorough credentialing process is required

Weekly incentive paid throughout the initial 6-month contract

Increased weekly incentive for a second 6-month renewal

Additional per-shift bonuses available for providers who pick up extra full-time shifts beyond their guaranteed schedule
