Q&A
1. Confirming both weeknight and weekend call are beeper hold, correct? What is the required response time? – Yes, all call is beeper call. The response time is 30 minutes. If there is a need to stay onsite to fulfill the requirement, both hospitals have sleep rooms for the CRNAs.
2. Do they cover Friday thru Sunday on weekend call, or are the days split up? – Friday through Sunday is all covered by weekend call.
3. Do they need to just be comfortable with cardiac cases, or be TEE certified? – There are no cardiac surgeries performed at either site. In Owatonna, there are cardioversions and TEEs performed by the cardiologist. The CRNAs do not need to be certified, as they are not doing the TEE.
4. How many cardiac cases will they be doing week to week on avg? – TEEs and cardioversions are scheduled relatively infrequently. Usually, there are not more than a few per month.
