Position Summary
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides safe, high-quality anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. This role performs pre-anesthesia evaluations, develops individualized anesthesia plans, administers anesthetics, and monitors patient responses throughout the perioperative process. CRNAs work collaboratively within a free-standing outpatient surgery and GI center, supporting a positive patient experience and high standard of care.
Primary Responsibilities
• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia care plans.
• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care based on patient and procedural needs.
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and adjust anesthetic levels and medications as clinically indicated.
• Perform required invasive procedures, including peripheral IV starts and related anesthesia-specific tasks.
• Ensure anesthesia equipment, medications, and supplies are prepared, available, and functioning properly.
• Accurately document anesthesia assessments, interventions, medications, and intraoperative monitoring.
• Provide patient and family education related to anesthesia and perioperative expectations.
• Collaborate with the surgical care team and respond appropriately to intraoperative or perioperative emergencies following established protocols.
Education & Experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and an accredited nurse anesthesia program required.
• Current Tennessee RN license and APN certification required.
• Current certification through NBCRNA required.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of CRNA experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques, pharmacology, and patient monitoring.
• Ability to evaluate patient health status and respond effectively to changes during procedures.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Proficiency in EMR documentation and basic computer applications.
Working Conditions
• Work is primarily performed in a clinical setting and involves frequent in-person communication with patients and staff.
• The role involves continuous engagement and interaction with others and may involve occasional or frequent interruptions.
• The work environment reflects typical conditions found in a medical practice, including exposure to standard clinical equipment, patient interactions, and administrative workflows.
• There is potential exposure to common medical practice conditions, including communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and chemical substances.
• Physical demands include walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, assisting patients, and prolonged periods of sitting.
• The position may also involve occasional stress due to multiple responsibilities and competing priorities.

- Six (6) weeks of paid time off, plus seven (7) paid holidays, including Christmas Eve and the Friday after Thanksgiving.
- Annual support for continuing education, including $1,500 for tuition and full coverage of licensure and professional dues (AANA & NBCRNA).
