Job description

A well-rounded Anesthesiologist is needed for a locum tenens opportunity in an acute care hospital setting. This assignment offers a broad scope of cases across multiple specialties, along with the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Position Overview
Specialty: Anesthesiology
Start Date: Early June or as soon as credentialed
Assignment Length: 13 weeks with intermittent coverage dates
Schedule: Day shifts
Shift Hours: 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Call: Optional
Coverage Dates
Early June (multiple consecutive days)
Late June (short block)
Early July (full week)
Late August (short block)

(Flexible scheduling with additional opportunities available)

Practice Setting
Acute Care Hospital
Approximately 87 beds
Trauma Level IV facility
Collaborative environment with strong CRNA and nursing support
Clinical Details
Patient Volume: Approximately 4–8 patients per day
Patient Population: All ages (pediatrics through geriatrics)
Case Mix Includes:
Geriatric fractures
Urology
General surgery (non-bariatric)
Advanced breast procedures
Total joints
Endoscopy (propofol sedation)
Obstetrics (~500 deliveries annually)
Annual Volume: ~3,000 OR cases and ~3,000 endoscopy cases
EMR: Cerner
Team Structure
Anesthesiologist supported by CRNAs and nursing staff
CRNA support available at all times, including nights and weekends
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Active state license (or willingness to obtain)
ACLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year of experience
Strong OB anesthesia skills required
Comfortable covering OB, OR, and endoscopy cases as needed

Credentialing timeframe varies
COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations required (exemptions considered)
Multiple coverage blocks available with flexibility
