Position: Anesthesiologist
Location: Buffalo VA Medical Center, Buffalo, NY
Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time (3.0 FTE onsite and 1.5 FTE on-call services)

Key Responsibilities:
Provide anesthesiology services for a wide range of surgical procedures, including cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, neurosurgical, and more.
Deliver expert consultation and treatment in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Supervise and collaborate with residents, CRNAs, and other medical staff.
Participate in on-call rotations, including phone consultations and emergency care.
Maintain high standards of care in compliance with VA policies and national standards.
Document patient care in the VA's electronic health record system (EHR).
Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
Completion of an ACGME-approved residency in Anesthesiology.
Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Proficiency with trans-esophageal echocardiography (TEE) and advanced cardiac anesthesia is preferred.
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory.
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Key Requirements:
Compliance with all VA educational and mandatory training requirements.
Ability to respond onsite within 60 minutes during on-call hours for emergencies.
Full adherence to infection control measures, including vaccinations and testing.
U.S. citizenship or legal residency with a continuous three-year presence in the United States.
Schedule:
Weekday operating hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
On-call rotations: Weeknights, weekends, and federal holidays as assigned.
