Locum Anesthesiologist - Norfolk, VA - VA license - Will license

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to provide locum services in Norfolk, VA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an anesthesiologist looking for weekday coverage with call responsibilities in a collaborative, hospital-based setting. Coverage begins in January for 6 months.

🏥 Job Details:
Case Types:
General anesthesia cases including adults and some pediatrics (preferred), obstetrics, spine, complex vascular, and orthopedic cases. No open-heart or thoracic cases.
Special Procedures:
Regional anesthesia, spinal, and epidural experience required. Must be comfortable with insertion of central and arterial lines.
Setting:
Acute care hospital with advanced clinical services; Level I Adult Trauma Center.
Schedule:
Day shifts (8-, 10-, or 12-hour options) with flexible start times; weekday and/or weekend pager call required.
Support:
Collaborative anesthesia team in a hospital-based environment.
Facilities:
525-bed tertiary care hospital and primary teaching facility for a medical school.
EMR System:
Epic
Patient Population:
Adults primarily; pediatrics preferred.

✅ Requirements:

Board Certification in Anesthesiology
Active Virginia medical license (or willingness to obtain)
DEA required
COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
Minimum 2 years of experience preferred


📋 Credentialing:

Estimated timeframe: Credentialing for January start
Name-clear process required
Certification verification and screening form must accompany submission
