Social Worker needed in Southgate, MI
Job description
Position Summary
Role: Crisis Therapist (Adult Behavioral Health Program)
Setting: Outpatient / Community (Hybrid: in-person, telehealth, and community response with local police)
Location: Southgate, MI
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Permanent (Direct Hire)
Shifts: Days (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM), with flexible scheduling; requires some evenings, weekends, and after-hours on-call availability (stipend provided for after-hours police call response).
Salary (Non-negotiable, grant-based):
Full License: $29.47 – $39.88/hour
Limited License: $27.22 – $37.36/hour
Key Requirements
Education & Licensure:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
State of Michigan licensure (LMSW, LPC, etc.).
Credentials (Must be obtained post-hire):
QMHP & SATS credentials within 120 days of hire.
CAADC credential or active MCBAP Development Plan (submitted within 30 days of hire).
Skills & Restrictions:
Experience with serious mental illness (SMI) and substance use disorders.
Must be able to respond immediately to crisis calls during on-call hours.
Unique Aspects
Co-Response Model: Works with local police departments via pre-programmed tablets for crisis calls.
Travel: Mileage reimbursement at IRS standard rate ($0.70/mile) for community visits.
Training: Paid
On-Call: After-hours on-call is voluntary with a stipend; business hours on-call is shared with the team.
