Emergency Medicine PA Needed in Onamia, MN

Start: as soon as credentialed

13-week assignment

Trauma Level: 4

Required Education and Experience
• Must be a graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of MN; DEA license.
• Minimum 3 years emergency medicine experience, ATLS or CALS certified, ACLS.

Preferred Education and Experience
• Prefer PALS or APLS emergency ultrasound experience.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Combination of 12 and 24 hour shifts, rotating nights, dates, and weekends.

Procedural Skills:
• Performs core emergency medicine procedures including but not limited to:
o Applies casts/splints, performs nail trephination, I & D, basic and complex laceration repairs.*
o Performs slit lamp exams and corneal FB removal.*
o Possesses basic airway skills, as well as venous and arterial catheterization and urinary catheterization.*
o Performs advanced skills under physician supervision including but not limited to: LP, RSI, endotracheal intubation, needle thoracotomy, insertion of chest tube, procedural sedation, cardio version/ defibrillation, surgical airway.*

Management of the critically ill patient:
• Works with a physician and is able to manage cardiac arrest, major trauma and all levels of age and acuity hemodynamically unstable patients.*
• Manages the difficult airway presentation.*
