POSITION OVERVIEW
This locum Emergency Medicine opportunity offers a low-volume, high-autonomy practice environment within a Rural Critical Access Hospital. Providers will manage both emergency department patients and light inpatient responsibilities, supported by a collaborative clinical team and strong ancillary services.

CLINICAL SCOPE & VOLUME
Emergency Department: 3-bed unit with an average volume of ~4 patients per 24 hours.

Inpatient Care: 20-bed Med-Surg unit with an average census of ~4 patients (Observation, Acute, and Swing Bed).

Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive ED coverage and perform morning inpatient rounding.

EMR: TogetherCare (Epic).

SCHEDULE & COVERAGE
Shift Structure: 24-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM).

Environment: In-house coverage with a dedicated sleep room provided for downtime.

Support Staff: 2 RNs and 1 CNA per shift. No APP supervision required.

REQUIREMENTS
Board Certification: ABEM or FP/IM with recent, verifiable Emergency Medicine experience.

Licensure: Active Iowa (IA) State License in hand.

Compliance: Clean malpractice history and a current NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days) are required for submission.
