Emergency Medicine Physician Needed in Michigan – Multiple Shifts Available May through October

Job description

A Michigan facility is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing locum coverage from May through October. This role offers a variety of shifts, primarily evenings and nights, with some daytime opportunities.

The position includes working alongside an APP for 12 hours, with full ED support from nursing, techs, radiology, and lab services. Patient volume averages 1.8 patients per hour for physicians, with a total daily ED volume of approximately 80 patients.

Procedures include general emergency medicine cases such as newborn resuscitation, fracture care, suturing, I&D, central and arterial lines, ventilation management, arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and EKG interpretation.

BLS required

Must have recent ED inpatient experience

Local candidates only

EMR: Cerner

Orientation is paid at half rate after the first 8 hours

Hotel expenses covered up to $150 per night plus mileage reimbursement
