Emergency Medicine Locums Needed in Tennessee – ABEM | Level III Trauma | High Acuity

Job description

An Emergency Department in Tennessee is urgently seeking ABEM board-certified or eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians for consistent locum coverage. This is a high-volume, fast-paced Level III trauma center offering robust support and diverse case exposure.

📋 Details Include:

Facility Type: 120-bed hospital with 39-bed ED (10 extra hallway beds as needed)

Shift Options: 5:30a–3:30p, 10a–9p, 2p–1a, 8p–6a

Volume: ~135 ED visits per day | 10–12% admission rate

Support Staff: RNs, LPNs, techs, RTs, and 2 APPs per shift (except late overnight/early AM)

Trauma Level: III (trauma surgeon support for Level I traumas)

Procedures: Full scope including intubation, chest tubes, central lines, sedation, fracture reduction, FAST US exams, and more

EMR: Meditech (orientation provided if unfamiliar)

Orientation: 2–4 hours + EMR overview

Credentialing: Emergency privileges possible for clean files

Schedule: All shift types available – includes evenings, nights, weekends (no call)

Common Cases: Chest & abdominal pain, ortho injuries, trauma, shortness of breath, OB issues, peds, and more

This is an excellent long-term contract (6+ months) for physicians who thrive in dynamic environments with solid team support and clinical diversity.
