Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant needed in Roanoke Rapids, NC

Job description

An urgent care center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This role offers flexible shift-based scheduling, with providers submitting their monthly availability and the facility assigning shifts from there.

The clinic is open:
• Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
• Saturday-Sunday: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

This opportunity includes urgent care for adult and pediatric patients ages 6 months and older. Providers should be comfortable managing high patient volume and performing common urgent care procedures.

Assignment details:
• Ongoing coverage need
• Flexible shifts based on provider availability
• Urgent care setting
• Adults and pediatrics, ages 6 months+
• Average 40 patients per day at this site
• Up to 60 patients per day depending on location
• Epic EMR
• No call

Procedures include:
• I&D
• Laceration repair
• Ear irrigation
• Other minor procedures

Support staff:
• Center Manager
• MA
• PSA
• Offsite supervising physician support

Requirements:
• Board Certified
• Active North Carolina license
• DEA
• BLS
• Minimum 12 months of urgent care or emergency medicine experience
• Must be comfortable treating both adults and pediatrics

Preferred:
• DOT certification
• PALS and/or ACLS

• Ongoing urgent care coverage with flexible shift availability
• Adults and pediatrics, ages 6 months and up
• Epic EMR and no call
