QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
RN with active license with no restriction (license in appropriate state)
Current CRNA or Advance Practice Nurse license (state specific)
Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council or Accreditation of Nurse
Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor
Current certification from National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA)
Current BLS/ACLS certification
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the skills necessary to provide care
Demonstrates ability to administer anesthesia as approved by Governing Body of Center
Performs all aspects of anesthesia care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the
likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
Interviews patient and performs pre-anesthesia and airway assessment prior to the surgery/procedure
Develops, implements, and documents an anesthesia plan of care according to the patient's needs prior to providing anesthesia
Obtains the anesthesia informed consent form
Performs an assessment immediately prior to induction of anesthesia and documents this in the medical record
Performs a post-anesthesia patient assessment, records post anesthetic visits, including at least one note describing the presence or absence of anesthesia related complications.
Discharges or releases the patient from recovery area according to established criteria and regulatory requirements and documents.
