Gastroenterologist needed in Illinois

Job description

Role Overview:

Setting: Inpatient consult service and outpatient procedures with call coverage.
Schedule:
Monday 8 AM – Monday 8 AM (1 week/month)
Weekdays: 8 AM – 5 PM onsite, evening call (paid flat daily rate + night call, no gratis for night call).
Weekends: 8 AM – 12 PM onsite, evening call (paid as 24-hour call with 4 hours gratis).
No clinic responsibilities.
Clinical Details:

Patient Volume: 10-15 patients per shift (outpatient scopes on select mornings).
Support Staff: 1-2 Gastroenterologists, 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Procedures Performed:
Upper GI endoscopy (including biopsy, foreign body removal, and bleeder fulguration).
PEG placement.
Esophageal dilatation/manometry.
Small bowel biopsy.
Colonoscopy (including biopsy and polyp excision).
Liver biopsy.
Not Required: EUS, ERCP, pH monitoring, esophageal manometry interpretation, and sigmoidoscopy.
Additional Information:

EMR System: Cerner/PowerChart.
Licensing: Active license preferred (IMLS may be considered).
This position offers a balanced mix of inpatient consults, outpatient procedures, and call coverage with comprehensive support staff.
