Locums – Physician – Gastroenterology, OH (Central Ohio Region)

Start Date: January 2026
Contract Length: 1–2 weeks per month, minimum 7 consecutive days per month preferred
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + On Call
Schedule:

Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM weekday shifts + night beeper call

24-hour beeper call on weekends

Work Details:

Amount of coverage needed per month: Full-time coverage; physicians who can work minimum 7 consecutive days per month preferred

Patients per day: TBD

Patient Population/Age: Adult

Department Description: GI coverage for Level 1 hospital

EMR: Epic

Hospital Bed Size: 434 beds

Special Procedures Required:

ERCP (minimum 150 in past 2 years)

EUS required

Esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement (20 in past 2 years)

Colonoscopy with/without polypectomy (100 in past 2 years at initial appointment, 150 at reappointment)

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy including foreign body removal or polypectomy

Argon plasma coagulation

Biopsy of esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon

Enteral alimentation

Esophageal dilation with balloon, bougie, or Savary with guidewire

Flexible sigmoidoscopy

Gastrointestinal motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring

Nonvariceal hemostasis (upper and lower)

Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy

Practice Setting: Hospital

Requirements:

Board Certification: BC or BE in Gastroenterology

License: OH (willing to assist with licensing), IMLC preferred

DEA: Required

Certifications: ACLS, proof of Moderate Sedation competency required

Minimum Experience: 1 year

Credentialing Timeframe: Temporary privileges available
