Responsibilities:
Gastroenterology Expertise: Utilize your expertise in Gastroenterology to diagnose and treat patients with gastrointestinal disorders in an inpatient setting.
Call Coverage: Provide on-call coverage to address emergent gastroenterological issues, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
EMR Utilization: Navigate and efficiently use the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, and support staff, to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Quality Improvement: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of patient care services within the inpatient gastroenterology practice.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
Adherence to Policies and Guidelines: Adhere to all relevant policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the highest standard of patient care and safety.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Board Certification: Board-certified in Gastroenterology.
State License: Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of Texas.
Experience: Proven experience in providing Gastroenterology care, preferably in an inpatient setting.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
EMR Proficiency: Proficient in using the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
