Gastroenterology Locum Tenens Opportunity – 24-Hour Call Coverage

Job description

A board-certified Gastroenterologist is needed for a short-term locum tenens assignment providing 24-hour call coverage in an acute care hospital setting. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians who are comfortable managing inpatient consults and urgent GI cases in a collaborative environment.

Position Overview
Specialty: Gastroenterology (Internal Medicine)
Start Date: Late May
Assignment Length: 1 week
Schedule: Continuous 24-hour call coverage
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (ongoing for duration of assignment)

Practice Setting
Acute Care Hospital
Trauma Level III facility
Supportive clinical environment with established processes for inpatient and emergency care
Clinical Responsibilities
Inpatient consults
Emergency department consults
Transfer cases
Management of acute and complex gastrointestinal conditions
Procedures & Skills
ERCP and EUS experience preferred
Ability to independently manage a wide range of GI cases in a hospital setting
Team Structure
Weekday support from a Physician Assistant
Collaboration with hospital staff and care teams
Requirements
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active state medical license required
DEA required
ACLS certification required
