Locums General Surgery Opportunity Need in MD!

Job description

Specialty: General Surgery
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Work Details:
Support Staff: Other APPs on service, RN's, Care Management, and General Surgery Residents in the OR
Coverage Needed: 12-14 shifts per month
Patients per Day: 10-15
Patient Population/Age: 18+ years old
Department Description:
Handle patients from ER to OR, prepare patient information
Contact OR doctors if needed
EMR System: Cerner

Skills Required:
Comfortable with surgical pathology
Cover patients admitted overnight and handle new consults from ER or inpatient
Respond to nursing calls, complete surgery notes for late-night admissions
Handle urgent codes on surgical patients
Proficient with basic skills such as nose gauze and other independent tasks

Requirements:
State License Required: Maryland
Board Certification: Required
DEA Registration: Yes
CSR: Yes

Certifications Required:
ACLS
Minimum Experience Required: 1 year with consult experience
Credentialing Timeframe: Up to 90 days
