Locum Tenens General Surgery Physician Assistant PA/NP Needed in White Plains, NY

Overview:
Weatherby Healthcare is currently seeking a Board Certified General Surgery Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment at an acute hospital in White Plains, NY. This is an excellent part-time opportunity for a local or regional provider looking to pick up a couple of shifts per week.

Assignment Details:

Dates: May 17, 2026 – July 12, 2026.

Schedule: The facility is looking for 2 shifts per week, ideally split between 1 weekday and 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). However, they are also open to providers who can consistently commit to 1 shift per week.

Shift Hours: Coverage is primarily daytime, with shifts typically running from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. While days are the primary need, there may be an occasional need for night coverage.

Clinical Scope: You will be providing inpatient surgery floor coverage for a multi-specialty surgery service. Duties include supporting pre- and post-operative care and evaluating consultations from the ER and inpatient units.

Experience Required: General surgery experience is ideal. Additional experience in urology, ENT, and/or gynecology is highly desirable.

EMR System: Epic.

Requirements:

Board Certification: Must be Certified.

Certifications: Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) are required.

License: Must have an active New York (NY) state license, as the client is not able to wait for a new license to process. Please note that local or regional candidates are preferred for this role.

Permits: An active DEA is required; a Controlled Substance Permit is not needed.
