General Surgeon – Locums Opportunity (Arkansas)

Start Date: December 19, 2025
Contract Length: 6-month block (through June 2026)
Schedule: 1–2 weeks per month, every other weekend
Coverage Type: 24-hour call coverage
Required Availability: Must be available to work week of Christmas (no exceptions)

Position Overview
Seeking an experienced General Surgeon to provide ongoing locums coverage in a Level IV trauma environment. The ideal provider is comfortable with a broad range of general surgical procedures and ready to step into a high-volume, 24/7 call rotation supporting trauma readiness.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for surgical and trauma needs.
Perform a variety of general surgical procedures, including:
Gallbladder and biliary disease management
Hernia repairs
GI disorders (upper GI evaluations, biopsies, and acute treatments)
Skin and soft tissue cases (lesion/mass/cyst removals)
Vascular access placements (ports and central lines)
Respond promptly to emergency consults and operative cases during call periods.

Requirements
Board Certification: Required
State License: Active Arkansas license
Certifications: ATLS required
DEA: Required
Experience: Prior inpatient or trauma experience preferred

Coverage Type: 24-hour call

Holiday Requirement: Must be available for Christmas week coverage
