Neurosurgical Oncology APP Needed in CA

Location: San Francisco

Start: April

12 week assignment

8A – 430P; Monday through Friday; No Weekends & No Holidays

Work Details:

• Amount of coverage needed per month: full time, 5x8/weekly

• Patients per day: variable; when working closely with physician, APP can see up to 15 patients/day; when doing video appointments APP sees 2-6 patients/day

• Patient population/age: all adults

• Department description: The department of neurosurgery oncology works under the department of neurosurgery, but only works with medical oncology patients. The department sees patients who are pre/post surgery for primarily brain tumors. The department follows up on care and medication treatments, symptom review and management, neurological symptom reviews, does in-basket management with APEX.

• EMR: epic

• Special procedures: N/A – APP may be utilized for lumbar punctures if highly experienced

• Skills required:

• 2 yrs outpatient oncology management exp

• Strongly prefer neuro onc exp

• Lumar puncture experience preferred, not required

• APP must be organized and have strong assessment skills

Practice Setting:
• outpatient
• Hospital

Requirements:
• Board Certification: PA - Must have Master's in PA Studies;

ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC
• License required: CA license

• License required: CA license required

• DEA: yes, CA with schedule 2/2n

• Certifications required: ONS oncology certification

• Minimum experience required:

• Must have at least 2 years recent outpatient oncology experience

• Experience with neurosurgery or neurological oncology strongly preferred

• Must have experience using Beacon with Epic

Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
