Orthopedic Surgery – Weekend Call Coverage

Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to provide weekend call coverage in MD. This is a great opportunity for a long-term locums role with a 1-year contract and the option to extend.

📅 Assignment Details:

Start Date: End of September 2025

Duration: 1 year, with potential to extend

Schedule: 1 weekend/month (Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)

Call: 24-hour coverage (7a–7a)

Volume: ~4–5 calls/day; typically 1 onsite visit/day (as needed)

🏥 Work Environment:

Setting: Hospital – Level 3 Trauma Center

Support Staff: PAs, residents, RNs

EMR: Cerner

Patient Population: Primarily adults (17+), rare peds

Skills: General ortho, fracture care, infections

✅ Requirements:

Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery

Active state license or IMLC eligible

Minimum 1 year post-training experience

• IMLC Accepted
• Long term assignment
• Low Volume - Typically 1 onsite visit/day (as needed)
