Job description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac ICU APP for a 6-month locums assignment at a large academic hospital in New Haven, CT. This is a high-acuity, team-supported role caring for pediatric patients in a dedicated Cardiac ICU setting.

Assignment Details

Start Date: February 9, 2026

Contract Length: 6 months

Schedule: 3x12s per week (6p–6a, Tuesday–Thursday preferred)

Weekends: 1–2 per month

Shifts per Month: 12 total

EMR: Epic

Hospital Size: 1,541 beds

Patient & Practice Details

Population: Pediatric cardiac ICU patients

Patient Volume: Typically 5–6, up to 10–12 on surgery days

Support Staff: Night shift includes one attending and one fellow on-site

Environment: Team-based with full hospital resources

Procedures & Skills

Central line placement

Intubation

Arterial line placement

Experience with pacer wires a plus (not required)

Bedside rounding and communication with surgical teams

Requirements

Board Certification: ACNP or PA-C

Experience: Minimum 3 years in high-acuity ICU setting (pediatric/cardiac preferred)

Certifications: PALS and ACLS required

Licensure: CT license preferred, will consider licensing candidates

DEA and CSR required
