Clinical Specialist - School and Infant Mental Health
Under the general supervision of the Director of Children’s Initiatives, the Clinical Specialist – School and Infant Mental Health will monitor the continued implementation of care coordination activities for children ages 0 to 21st birthday who have Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED) and intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD). The Clinical Specialist – School and Infant Mental Health will specialize in the School Success Initiative Program and Infant Mental Health services (ages 0 to 5).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides coordination, oversight and implementation to all school-based initiatives and infant mental health services (ages 0 to 5).
Facilitates Infant and Early Childhood Provider meetings.
Manages Infant and Early Childhood grants and submits the grant reports into the EGRAMS system.
Attends case consultation meetings and reviews the medical necessity of clinical services.
Establishes and maintains relationships with school district leadership and community mental health leadership to ensure optimal impact on behavioral health and academic achievement outcomes.
Performs related work as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A Master’s degree from a recognized college or university in the Human Services, the Social Services, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of professional experience providing clinical/behavioral health support for children, youth, and families in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S).
A Valid State of Michigan clinical licensure: LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LLP or PhD.
A limited license will be accepted
Infant Mental Health Waiver / Endorsement Preferred
A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval. Currently this position is primarily a hybrid position.
