MOBILE CRISIS OUTREACH CLINICIAN

Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Grants and Community Engagement, the Mobile Crisis Outreach Clinician will respond on-site to crisis calls that cannot be resolved by the Access & Crisis Helpline telephonically in Wayne County. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Clinician will utilize the best crisis intervention practices in behavioral health, prevention and post-intervention crisis services, education, crisis stabilization services, short-term treatment, and follow up services until an individual is connected to an ongoing service provider.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs mobile crisis services in the community, including crisis intervention and de-escalation for individuals of all ages.
• Provides direct clinical, short-term and solution-focused counseling and services.
• Problem solves and resolves conflict utilizing motivational interviewing and other communication tools and techniques.
• Coordinates with the Crisis Traffic Coordinator via text or cell phone before reaching and entering the destination and upon leaving for safety and to be redeployed.
• Utilizes Crisis Theory to provide crisis counseling to people to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behavior.
• Provides direct and indirect services involving intensive case-management services including plan development, placement services, assistance in daily living, individual and/or group counseling, and crisis intervention.
• Documents all crisis intervention activities ensuring timely and complete case documentation following DWIHN policies and procedures for accuracy of records and regulatory compliance.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, the Social Services, or a related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of full-time paid professional clinical experience working in crisis services or a closely related area.

REQUIRED LICENSE:

A Valid State of Michigan clinical licensure: RN, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LLP or PhD.
(A limited license will be accepted).
A Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Experience/Certification(s) in one of the following:

• CAADC Certified Advanced Addiction Drug Counselor
• CAC-R Certified Addiction Counselor IC&RC Reciprocal
• CCDP Certified Co-occurring Disorder Professional
• CCDP-D Certified Co-occurring Disorder Professional Diplomat
• Experience providing crisis intervention services.
• Experience with a broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children.
• Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employees in this classification must travel throughout Wayne County. Candidates will be required to travel to homes, community-based settings, hospitals, schools, courts, etc.
Full-Time Shifts Available: Monday - Sunday, 8am-4pm, 4 pm-12 am, 12am-8am
