Registered Nurse – Wound Care (RN, WOCN Certified)
📍 Location: [ PittsField, MA ]
🕒 Schedule: 8-Hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
⏳ Hours: 40 Hours Guaranteed Weekly
💰 Compensation: Based on Experience
$75/hr – $2,700 weekly
$85/hr – $3,060 weekly
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Wound Care RN is responsible for providing expert wound care assessment, treatment, and management for patients with acute and chronic wounds, pressure injuries, ostomies, and related conditions. The role requires collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote wound healing and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including staging, measurement, and evaluation of wound bed, exudate, and periwound skin.
Develop and implement evidence-based wound care treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition.
Coordinate and perform wound debridement, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), dressing changes, and pressure off-loading techniques.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on wound care techniques, ostomy management, and preventive care.
Document all wound care assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Monitor wound progression and modify treatment plans as necessary in collaboration with the medical team.
Serve as a wound care resource and consultant for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control practices, and WOCN standards of care.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to wound care policy development.
Requirements:
Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN license in [State Name]
Certifications (Required):
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
WOCN Certification (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of current wound care experience in an acute or post-acute care setting
Preferred Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Knowledge of current wound care treatments and technologies
Effective communication and patient education abilities
Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
Ability to work independently and within a team
